Received the highest ranking in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's coastal vessel "energy saving rating" system
In order to create an environment conducive to investment in energy-saving and CO2-reducing equipment for coastal shipping, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) launched the full-scale implementation of the coastal shipping "Energy Saving Rating" system in March 2020, which objectively evaluates the energy-saving and CO2-reducing performance of ships.
We are pleased to announce that five of our vessels, "Hidaka," "Mashiu," and "Marimo," as well as our operating vessels "Tsuruga" and "Hokuto," have received the highest rating (☆☆☆☆☆) for equipment installation and design measures (hardware measures) as of October 22, 2020.
These vessels are already more energy-efficient and CO2-reducing than conventional vessels, making them environmentally friendly. By encouraging our shippers and consumers to use these vessels, we will further contribute to combating global warming.
