The keel laying ceremony for Ship No. 1202 was held at 9:30 a.m. on February 7, 2017, at the Shimonoseki Shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.

The state-of-the-art ship is scheduled to enter service in January next year on the Hitachinaka/Tomakomai route connecting the Kanto region and Hokkaido.
