Drone surveys started using "AKARI"

Kuroshima Research Institute has begun a survey of sea turtles and manta populations in the sea. A drone captures the sea, and from the footage we count the number of sea turtles and mantas. Until now, only land approaches could be made, but research vessels "AKARI" have now become possible to conduct surveys from the sea.

The sight of the sea turtles and manta swimming photographed with a drone gives you a sense of majestic nature.

The Institute now only covers the area around Kuroshima, but in the future they would like to investigate the various coasts of the Yaeyama Islands.

We will continue to support the research vessel AKARI's success.
