Summary of the "Operational Plan for Countermeasures against New Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases"
The Act on Special Measures for Pandemic Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases Preparedness (Act No. 31 of 2012) requires designated public institutions to take appropriate measures in carrying out their business, and to continue operations in a way that minimizes the impact on people's lives and the national economy in the event of an outbreak of pandemic influenza or other infectious diseases. The Act also requires designated public institutions to prepare an operational plan for pandemic influenza and other infectious diseases countermeasures when carrying out their operations, report it to the Prime Minister, and make the summary public. Based on this, Kinkai Yusen Co., Ltd., a designated public institution, has established a "Pandemic Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases Countermeasures Operational Plan," the summary of which is as follows:
1. Matters concerning measures against new strains of influenza, etc.
